Bette, you mentioned possibly needing Levequin to get over a bout of 
bronchitis.  Hubby had to take it awhile back, and it elevated his 
blood pressure by 50 pts AND caused his blood to clot more slowly.  He 
ended up with a nosebleed we couldn't stop and a trip to the ER.

Just a note of caution - both problems are mentioned in the fine print 
as side effects, but most people don't think to take their BP regularly 
just because they're taking an antibiotic.  He takes Cozaar to control 
his BP which it normally does.  No way to know if this reaction was 
caused by the Levequin interacting with the BP meds or not.

Anyway, it's worth a check of your BP when taking one of the quinolone 
antibiotics.
