>From my experience I don't believe they do. Several years ago when my sister-in-law could no longer keep her purr-girl and I agreed to take her, she (Cougar) was quite round. At the time we had some dining room chairs with spindles in the back that were spaced about 3-1/2" apart. One day while perched upon one of the chairs Cougar decided to take a short cut to the floor through the bars and ended up suspended from her belly flab. She just hung unable to gain enough traction in the rear to pull herself back up but too fat to slip all the way through! If her whiskers had been a bit wider she'd have perhaps known not to try it. Fortunately for her I was at home when it happened and was able to help her out of her predicament.
