Besides the balance thing and waving around in front of faces and as playthings for kittens, it is mostly used in whacking moms/dads in the head and face to wake them in the a.m. and remind them it is time to tend to kitty chow!

PS - And another whisker use - tickling mom's/dad's nose in the a.m. if above whacking doesn't work fast enough and yowling doesn't work!
