Geordi used to do that.  Then I learned a trick of putting a small  
float in the water, like one of those plastic "ice cubes" that doesn't  
dilute a drink - it gives the cat a gauge for the surface of the water  
so they can drink without getting their precious whiskers wet, and you  
get the benefit of not getting your toesies wet when you walk through  
their puddles!

Anna and the 2 purrgirls, who thought all water came with floaties...
