The Hairy Hesson Herd lives on Bus. Hwy 69, which is the main N-S thoroughfare through the north side of town, and our front door is some 25 feet from the street. Which means that several times each day, law enforcement and emergency vehicles go ripping past, at up to 60 mph, with sirens shrieking at full decibels levels.
Used to be, when we first moved here, the fuzzers jumped a mile high, at the first hint of a siren coming our way, and when their feet hit back down, they were full-speed-ahead toward under-the-bed. Now, when a siren is imminent, if they do anything at all, they simply turn their heads toward the street, see the lights and noise go racing by, then yawn, and go back to napping. Ain't edjakashun a wunnerful thang???
"mom, we r not stupid enuf 2 chase kars like that big dum dawg next dor"

I dunno, but I doubt that I would be very concerned about flooding two
counties from me in the first place! Surely you don't have to be
notified about every bad weather thing going on elsewhere. I'd turn it
off or get it reprogrammed! 'Twas funny though! <g>
Bette & the Four Fabulous Felines who do not want any weather warnings
The thing comes from the Raleigh Airport and apparently covers everything for 50 miles in all directions around it so, other than turning it off, I don't have any way of programming it so it only reports my immediate area. I am trying, though, to figure out how to turn the blasted thing DOWN so it can't be heard over that entire 50 mile area just from my radio alone! <sigh>
