Julie,
It's not the cats I'm trying to control the blasted thing for so much as myself1 I'm getting a bit tired of having to untangle myself from my bedding and pick myself up off the floor! <G> I finally figured out that the thing has 3 alert settings. The one I originally had it on was "Tone" where it shrieks and hollers until I hit one of the buttons. The other two are "Voice" and "Visual". It says, with "Voice", the alarm sounds for 8 seconds and then the voice comes on to tell me what/where the alert is about. But if that thing shrieks the same as it does for "Tone" I'm still going to end up in a dither, even if it is only for 8 seconds! That can be an eternity when woken out of a sound sleep! As for the "Visual", it doesn't say anything about an alarm. It just says it displays text. Well, that isn't going to do much good if I don't know it's texting! Seems like there ought to be a way to test the thing and find out just which setting
I would prefer. Guess I'm going to have to break down and call the company and get some answers.
